Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All image processing happens 100% in your browser. The Canvas API is used locally to remove EXIF, so your images are never uploaded to or stored on any server.
What EXIF data gets removed?
GPS location data, camera make and model, date/time, ISO, aperture, shutter speed, software info, and all other metadata are completely removed.
Will image quality be affected?
JPEG images are re-encoded at 95% quality with virtually no visible difference. PNG and WebP are kept in their original format. Due to the nature of EXIF removal, it's not completely lossless, but there is no practical quality difference.
Can I just view EXIF without removing it?
Yes, use the 'View EXIF' tab to inspect your photo's metadata without removing anything. If GPS data is present, you can view the location on OpenStreetMap.
Is there a file size limit?
Since processing happens in the browser, there are no server-side limits. However, very large images (50MB+) may take longer depending on your device's memory.
